The agreement will allow SCHOMERUS to gain a foothold in the U.S. legal market and allow Wong Fleming to rely on SCHOMERUS’s 13-lawyer office in Hamburg to further assist the needs of the firm’s multinational clients where they have a business presence in Germany and Europe. SCHOMERUS’s German office is headquartered in Hamburg, viewed by many as a crucial gateway to commerce in Germany and Europe, with a branch office in the German capital of Berlin. Wong Fleming is headquartered in Princeton, New Jersey, with branch offices throughout the United States, including Houston, Texas, Redmond and Seattle, Washington, San Diego, California, Atlanta, Georgia, Washington, DC, Baltimore, Maryland, New York, New York and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Both SCHOMERUS and Wong Fleming share a common core practice of representing the interests of the business community in all major legal fields, including corporate law, mergers and acquisitions and commercial litigation. SCHOMERUS is a full service firm with additional capabilities in tax law, customs, accountancy and auditing in Germany and throughout Europe.

“Entering into this cooperation agreement with Wong Fleming, whose partners I have gotten to know as friends and respect as professionals over many years, helps us keep pace with our clients, many of whom whose needs extend beyond the borders of Germany and throughout the United States” said Jens Kindt, partner at SCHOMERUS. “It is important to us that we have found a strategic partner in Wong Fleming who can deliver the quality of legal services that our clients are accustomed to,” added Dr. Dirk Schwenn, partner at SCHOMERUS.

“Over the last several years, we have travelled to Germany and personally met with Dr. Dirk Schwenn, Jens Kindt and the other partners at SCHOMERUS and we are entering into this cooperation agreement with them because they share the same vision, mission and values as Wong Fleming. They are committed to exceeding client expectations and they value the importance of integrity, legal scholarship, advocacy tempered with civility, and the promotion of diversity in the legal profession,” says Linda Wong, founder and CEO of Wong Fleming.
