Wong Fleming wins prestigious Thomas L. Sager Diversity Award for the Northeast Region from the MCCA


The Minority Corporate Counsel Association (“MCCA”) honored Wong Fleming with the Thomas L. Sager Diversity Award for the Northeast Region on March 12, 2014, at the 2014 Sager Awards Luncheon.  The award recognizes law firms that have demonstrated a sustained commitment to advance the hiring, retention and promotion of diverse attorneys.  One Sager Award is given in each of MCCA’s five regions:  Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest, and West.  Wong Fleming received the Sager Award for the Northeast region.   The Thomas L. Sager Award is named in honor of Thomas L. Sager, Senior Vice President and General Counsel for the DuPont Company.  Accepting the award for Wong Fleming was CEO & Partner, Linda Wong, with Partners Daniel C. Fleming, Troy Priest, David Hill, Geronimo Perez, Michael Yim and Paul Yoon also attending.

The Thomas L. Sager Award Selection Process:  Each law firm recipient of the Sager Award will be profiled in Diversity & The Bar Magazine, the official magazine of the Minority Corporate Counsel Association.  In addition to the statistical data that is set forth in the nomination application, the Board of Directors, in making the award has evaluated the firm in such areas as recruitment, retention, mentoring, promotion, pipeline initiatives, LGBT initiatives, women initiatives, work-life balance, collaborative efforts with community and bar associations, and innovative practices that result in sustainable efforts to increase diversity.
