Wong Fleming, P.C. welcomes Gregory Johnson to the Firm

Greg Johnson is a senior associate with Wong Fleming.  Mr. Johnson has been practicing law in New Jersey for 21 years with a solid background representing New Jersey school districts and public bodies. In 1987, he began his legal career representing the Trenton Board of Education. Most recently, in 2007, after serving as Counsel to numerous Abbott Districts throughout the State, Mr. Johnson returned to the area to represent the Trenton and Camden Boards of Education.

Mr. Johnson’s legal career has included representation of the following Boards of Education: Trenton, Paterson, Newark, Asbury Park, East Orange, Paterson, Cherry Hill, South Brunswick and West Windsor-Plainsboro.  As General Counsel for the Paterson Public Schools, he advised the State District Superintendent and Board on various matters including school construction, personnel/employee disciplinary matters, investigations and compliance, contracting and public school bidding procedures and practices.   Prior to joining the Paterson Public Schools as General Counsel, he was also Special Counsel handling a variety of general litigation and employee disciplinary matters.

Mr. Johnson received his Bachelor of Arts degree, with a major in political science, from Florida State University, and graduated with honors in 1983.   He received his J.D. from Rutgers University-Camden Law School in 1986.

A member of the New Jersey Bar, Mr. Johnson is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.  He is also an active member of the Mercer County Bar Association. Throughout his career, Mr. Johnson has been a member of the New Jersey Association of School Attorneys and has lectured to School Districts and Associations on the teacher evaluation and tenure dismissal process.

Mr. Johnson is active in the Mercer County community and is a Deacon of the Union Baptist Church of Trenton. As part of the Men’s Fellowship Ministry of Union, Mr. Johnson coordinates the Mentoring program at Gregory Elementary School in Trenton. Mr. Johnson is also a Board member of the Metropolitan Trenton African-American Chamber of Commerce (MTAACC) and Fathers and Men United for a Better Trenton.
