Wong Fleming Selected for UK Diversity Initiative

Linda Wong to travel to London for the inaugural WEConnect diversity conference.

PRINCETON, NJ – The Princeton-based law firm of Wong Fleming, P.C. announced today that it is among a limited group of 20 women-owned American businesses to be selected to participate in a women’s diversity exchange program between the United States and the United Kingdom.  The new program, available only to a short list of vetted women business enterprises like Wong Fleming, is called the WBENC/WEConnect-UK Reciprocal Pilot Program.  It is the creation of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (“WBENC”), an organization whose purpose is to promote and support certified women business owners in the U.S., and its UK counterpart, WEConnect.

Linda Wong will be representing the firm in London, where she will attend the WEConnect Conference scheduled for October 31, 2008 and hosted by Merrill Lynch.  As one of the exclusive participants of the pilot program, Wong Fleming will be included in the WEConnect-UK database and will be eligible for matchmaking opportunities with UK based corporations.

“We are honored to be among the few companies in the country who WBENC and WEConnect have selected to participate in this international diversity initiative,” said Ms. Wong, who is the founding partner of Wong Fleming.  “The world is becoming increasingly interdependent.  Recent events like the worldwide mortgage backed derivatives financial crisis underscore the importance of global diversity initiatives.  This U.S./UK diversity pilot program is an important step toward assuring the success of women owned businesses on the world stage.”

Wong Fleming is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell and maintains branch offices in Philadelphia and New York City.  In addition to being certified as a woman owned business by WBENC, the National Minority Supplier Development Council, and numerous other accrediting agencies     and public entities have certified Wong Fleming as a woman-owned, minority-owned and/or Asian-owned business.  The firm is a member of the American Bar Association’s Commission on Racial and Ethnic Diversity in the Profession and a frequent participant in the Minority Corporation Counsel Association.  Wong Fleming is a member of The National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms (“NAMWOLF”) and the National Minority Law Group (“NMLG”).

Linda Wong is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell.  The New Jersey Law Journal has named her as one of the Top 50 minority lawyers in New Jersey, and NJBiz Magazine has named her as one of the Top 50 women in business in New Jersey.  She is the recipient of the National Association of Pacific American Bar Association’s Trailblazer Award, in recognition for her outstanding achievements, commitment and leadership, and for paving the way for the advancement of other Asian Pacific American attorneys.
